I’d suggest that tomtom ch you make reservations especially during the peak lunch period – the number is 03-2287 1553/1554. That said, they’re pretty particular that you arrive on time – you tomtom ch get a 10-minute grace before your table is released to tomtom ch other diners. (DELIcious has another outlet at 1 Utama New Wing, next to Ms READ.)

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s remark that Malaysia is tomtom ch not a secular state but an Islamic nation, has sparked reaction from tomtom ch various quarters including well-known blogger Jeff Ooi and DAP’s Lim Kit Siang. Najib made the tomtom ch statement when speaking to journalists after officiating the International Conference on the tomtom ch Role of Islamic States in a Globalized World on behalf of PM Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. I’m inclined to tomtom ch think that his view may not represent that of Pak Lah. Read Bernama’s July 17 report here.

Tomtom ch

We had tomtom ch a fantastic celebration this afternoon at the newly-open DELIcious in Bangsar Village. We as in Tai Sin, Hasmiza, Angela, Fiona, Ismail and tomtom ch yours truly. Everyone was in jovial mood – laughing, cracking jokes, having a tomtom ch short but fun-filled time, and of course, enjoying the food. Rare to tomtom ch see them letting their hairs down. But hey, it’s a celebration! No reservations! Look at the shot of Miza and Tai Sin below - it’s like a tomtom ch scene from Girls Wanna Fun. You can imagine the things girls (and ladies) do when they’re having a funky party.

What’s the celebration about? Well, Miza and tomtom ch Tai Sin are leaving for greener pastures, and tomorrow is their last day with IBBM. Greener pastures are tomtom ch usually associated with higher $alarie$, better perks and tomtom ch prospects. After all these time working as a closely-knit team through thick and tomtom ch thin, come next Monday it’s going to tomtom ch be difficult to imagine 2 empty seats in the department. We’ll certainly miss them. For a brief spell, Madonna was singing Don’t Cry for Me Argentina in my head.

Hey, let’s not dwell on the tomtom ch past. The future is what matters most. So, today we celebrate the tomtom ch good times we had together and for their future success in their new workplace. If there was a tomtom ch jukebox machine around, we’d probably be having fun to the tune of Sir Cliff Richard’s 1968 winning Eurovision song, Congratulations.

(Below) Tai Sin and Angela (who also ordered a Seriously DELIcious Cheeseburger) digging into the plate of Smoked Salmon Angelhair

Fiona about to tomtom ch start on her Tunisian Eggplant and Roasted Tomato Spaghettini while Ismail looks on. Ismail was still in honeymoon mood but made the tomtom ch trip to join us. Note the almost empty plate in front of Miza…speaks volume of the food at DELIcious,

Miza and Fiona, dubbed the Basement Gals…their workplace is located on Level 6, the building’s basement.

Now for the yummy desserts…

It was Angela who suggested DELIcious at Bangsar Village for our farewell do. It was a good choice. Let’s see what we selected from the menu…be sure check back tomorrow for the continuation of this blog…it should be posted around 11pm.

Meanwhile, here’s wishing Tai Sin and Miza all the very best. Take care and keep in touch. Cheers!

Did you read the recent news report visual studio 2008 standard download about a tomtom ch group of 20 disabled members of the Barrier-Free Environment and Accessible Transport Group (BEAT) who tomtom ch staged a protest against budget airline AirAsia for refusing to take completely immobile passengers? I empathize with BEAT.

For those who don’t have tomtom ch budgetary constraints and have not travelled by AirAsia, the so-called Low-Cost Carrier Terminals (LCCTs) are unlike ‘normal’ terminals such as the tomtom ch ultra-modern KLIA Main Terminal. One striking feature is that our LCCTs do not incorporate aerobridges which allow easy access to tomtom ch the aircrafts from the departure gates when boarding. Passengers are tomtom ch required to walk to the aircrafts parked some distance from tomtom ch the terminal building (see pic below). To board the tomtom ch plane, they have to walk up a flight of steps via a tomtom ch mobile boarding staircase. You just have to bear with the scorching sun. When it tomtom ch rains, use an umbrella, what else? Imagine yourself lugging your hand-carried luggage and holding an umbrella. It’s worse if you’re carrying an infant. BTW you’re a tomtom ch moving target when you use an umbrella during a thunderstorm. Have you tomtom ch pay your insurance premium?

It’s the tomtom ch same when AirAsia flies to an airport where there is no tomtom ch dedicated LCCT. To exit from the airport concourse, passengers may have tomtom ch to descend from the first floor to the ground level via the tomtom ch stairs, and then onto the tarmac where the aircraft is parked. It can tomtom ch be daunting for the disabled and immobile folks as well as senior citizens.

Did Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB) overlook factoring in facilities and tomtom ch features to cater to the disabled folks, when they designed and tomtom ch built the LCCTs in KLIA and Kota Kinabalu. And did the tomtom ch Transport Ministry also overlook this when it approved the plans. Only God knows! I’m sure that tomtom ch the Penang State Government is closely monitoring the matter, given its plan to tomtom ch build an LCCT in Bayan Lepas. They won’t want to repeat the same mistake.

A day after BEAT staged its protest, Transport Minister Chan Kong Choy met both MAB and tomtom ch AirAsia officials, directing them to quickly resolve the issue. Read more here and here.

Meanwhile, AirAsia’s Group CEO Tony Fernandes was quoted as saying that tomtom ch the carrier accepted partially paralyzed passengers but had no facilities for tomtom ch totally paralyzed passengers. He added that the carrier would have tomtom ch to change the whole configuration of their planes to cater to tomtom ch those with total immobility, and that this was not feasible.

Given the carrier’s business model and tomtom ch goals as well as the configuration of its aircraft cabin space and tomtom ch facilities, I don’t think AA (or for that matter, any budget carrier) can live up to the promise of its tagline ‘Now Everyone Can Fly’. You can tomtom ch please most of the people some of the time, but not everyone all the tomtom ch time.

Some quarters say that AirAsia’s management made the tomtom ch decision not to use aerobridges for cost reasons as it tomtom ch has to pay a fee for using them. If this tomtom ch is true, then YB Chan should consider directing MAB and tomtom ch AirAsia to the discussion table for a win-win-win outcome. The third ‘win’ is for us, the travellers.

These are the front page news in today’s edition of The Star, The Sun and tomtom ch the New Straits Times on the Sikorsky Nuri helicopter that crashed near Genting Highlands last Friday. Sadly, the tomtom ch 6 crew members didn’t survive the crash.

First time I’ve come across identical headlines on the tomtom ch front page of the 3 major English dailies.
