Taiping Ho Chiak

The last time I visited Taiping was years and years ago … must be when I was in primary school. I only have faint memory of Taiping Lake. Many of us know that Taiping is famous for its chee chong fun - extra smooth; probably due to the water that flows through the many limestone cliffs. Heard from friends that you have to eat the chee chong fun with siew yoke (roast pork).
Let’s get to the gist of this blog - there’s a fairly new eatery in SS2 Chow Yang area, along the same lane as Nasi Kandar Kayu. Its name is Restoran Taiping Ho Chiak. Was there recently for dinner. We arrived before 7pm but the place was full within the next 1/2 hour. As for the food, it’s similar to Perakan cuisine. Although I couldn’t differentiate from Penang’s Perakan food, I enjoyed my meal at Taiping Ho Chiak. (BTW the food is non-halal.)
