Some will of course have more reason to celebrate especially if they have benefited greatly from the country’s development process. This post was prompted by a scene that I encountered earlier today. See photo below. While many were at Dataran Merdeka to watch the national day parade and participating in the revelry, this man was still in slumber land. He probably had a late night too, collecting recyclable items to earn precious money for his subsistence. As you can see, home to this destitute man is any public place where he can rest for peace of mind.
I have seen ‘homeless’ people making their ‘homes’ under bridges and in back lanes where canines, felines, rodents and insects roam. Seeing this guy on Hari Merdeka reminds me that I’m blessed indeed. A humble, cosy home to come home to.Coming home to my loved ones. Food for sustenance. Thank you.
