Restoran Haeun Khon @ Amcorp Mall
Jul 21st, 2008 by Steven
My wife and I were at Amcorp Mall yesterday. She wanted to get something from one of the shops. Since it was 1pm when we got there, the first thing that came to my mind was what to eat for lunch. I remembered my sister Angie blogging about having samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken) everyday during the 6 days she was holidaying in Seoul recently. That’s it, we would lunch at Restoran Haeun Khon (海雲軒), located on the top floor of the mall (03 7957 2181). Although it’s a Korean eatery, they also have Japanese and Chinese menu.
The family had dinner at this family-run Korean restaurant sometime back. But samgyetang was ’sold out’ then. This time around we were lucky. My wife had the samgyetang (RM16.90 for half a chicken) which came with a plate of white tofu, kimchi (not as spicy as the one I tasted in Korea), fried radish cake and 2 slices of watermelon. I took a few sips of the clear chicken broth but will reserve my comments until I try it again at another eatery.
I opted for the Korean fried rice (RM7.90). It’s like Chinese fried rice except that it came with generous servings of sliced white radish. cucumber, mango, a slice of orange and tomato. As a set, it also came with a piece of tofu and 2 slices of watermelon.
