So-So SoulED Out
May 31st, 2008 by Steven
If you surf SOULed OUT’s website, it says the cafe was started in Sept 1996. Before it moved to its present premises in Desa Sri Hartamas in 1999, it operated in a shoplex within the Mont Kiara Condo. I recall that during those times, whenever we lunched there, you’d always meet Japanese and Korean ladies in the cafe. It was a cosy place, ideal for lunch-time gatherings.
The ambiance and atmosphere at the present premises is a 360o change from the original cafe. More avant garde, more up market. Of course, the menu has been expanded. So, too, has the price.
As you’d have read from the previous posting, my colleagues and I feted another out-going colleague, Ann, to a farewell lunch at this cafe last Thursday. Ann and Hema had Chicken Meatballs (pan-fried in a creamy tomato base sauce). Prema & Jane’s choice was Char-grilled Chicken. Angela had Fried Rice while WeiTzee ordered Soup Noodle (with seafood, fish balls and vegetables). Susan went for the Chicken Chop (grilled and served with mushrooms, chips and sauteed panache vegetables). Malini picked the Jerk Style Snapper (spicy fillet coated with jerk spices, with mixed sauteed greens and chips).
Here are some pix of what we ate.

Wah, so clean…my plate after I had finished everything. Scroll down to find out what I ate.

For our starter, we had 2 plates of Deep Fried Calamari (crispy squid rings) RM18 per plate

Char-grilled Chicken with black pepper sauce, sauteed mushrooms and panache vegetables and mashed potato (RM22.00)

It’s the double (starter and main course) for me - Caesar Salad (RM16.00)
