Father and Son Night Out
May 17th, 2008 by Steven
It’s Saturday night…my wife is at a company’s dinner gathering while daughter Kellie is at the Genting XLive Festival featuring hip hop star Missy Elliot. That left my son and I to have a two-some dinner. Decided to go the Mid Valley Megamall. It was not that crowded as many folks had probably taken advantage of the extended weekend to balik kampung or go for short holidays.
We settled on Madam Kwan’s, with both of us ordering their famous Nasi Lemak. If you have eaten the Nasi Lemak at the Sakura Restaurant on Imbi Road, then you would probably think that it is prepared by the same chef or something. That’s because (from what I was told) I the lady behind Madam Kwan’s was formerly with Sakura.
The Nasi Lemak is one of the favourites among diners. When we were there this evening, the diners seated on either side ordered this item too. Even young children were eating Nasi Lemak; probably because it is not that spicy.

For RM14.20++ a plate you get a fairly generous serving with 2 pieces of chicken, a half portion of hardboiled egg, cucumber, sambal and acar. I also ordered hot Chinese tea, at RM4.90++ per small pot, enough for a cup; but I guess you can ask for a refill of hot water. Sky Juice (with a tinge of lemon flavour) is on the house. <Photo taken with Sony Ericsson W810i>
