So-So SoulED Out

If you surf SOULed OUT’s website, it says the cafe was started in Sept 1996. Before it moved to its present premises in Desa Sri Hartamas in 1999, it operated in a shoplex within the Mont Kiara Condo. I recall that during those times, whenever we lunched there, you’d always meet Japanese and Korean […]

SOULed OUT for AnN

Yesterday, nine of us drove to Desa Sri Hartamas for lunch at SOULed OUT. Not our usual place for lunch break; we’re treating colleague Ann Vong to a farewell do.

The ladies are smiling. What’s up?

The road leading to the temple was lined with stalls selling a myriad number of items, some of which has no relevance to this sacred day for Buddhists. Overall, the scene outside the temple took on a […]

Mirror Image

With their shaven heads and being of similar height, these two novice monks from Thailand look like brothers. It’s difficult to tell them apart. They were helping to put the flowers into plastic bags to be distributed to devotees.

Learning About Sharing and Giving

The parents of these young girls are giving them a head start in learning about the Buddha’s enlightening teaching on compassion, kindness, sharing and giving. (You will recall seeing the pre-school kid in my previous post…remember ‘face to face with the Buddha’?)

Photo taken at the Wesak Day celebration held at the Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple.

Sukico Dishes Out Hainanese Fare

There are a number of Hainanese cafes in KL and PJ. During a recent weekend, while driving in the Damansara Utama township, we popped in to Sukico Hainan Cafe for lunch. It’s located along Jalan SS21/39, directly opposite Fitness First (Uptown 5).

Sukico offers a fairly wide choice of items on its menu, from light to […]
