I Love Krabi - Phra Nang

Stacks of ‘Penises’ on Ao Phra Nang
After Koh Poda, we then headed to the final stop of the 4-island hopper, to Ao Phra Nang. Actually, it’s not an island as the beach is on the extreme southern part of the Krabi peninsula. This secluded beach is cut off by limestone hills and steep valleys; accessible only from the sea by boat - not unless you drop in from the air.
The palm-fringed beach is fronted by guest houses, a resort hotel, dive shops and restaurants. It is a popular venue for swimming, sunbathing and canoeing. You may be able to spot rock climbers scaling the sheer limestone cliffs.
Near to the tip of the ‘island’ is Tham Phra Nang Nok (Princess Cave), containing a shrine dedicated to the mythical sea goddess Phra Nang. At its entrance are stacks of wooden penises…serving as phallic offerings for virility and fertility.

Beautiful scenery…don’t you wish you were here?

Steep limestone cliffs…a haven for climbers

Grilled food is popular in Thailand, even on a beach

In a world of her own…sun, beach, sea and a book
