Steeped in Rituals

Hindu weddings are steeped in tradition and rituals. Apparently some ceremonies can be elaborate and grand, lasting a few days. Most couples usually opt for the shorter version that takes a couple of hours.
As part of the rituals, the bride and bridegroom will seek their parents’ blessing. In this photo taken at Guhan and Thiba’s wedding, the bride is ‘cleaning’ her mother’s feet (if I’m not wrong) in a container of milk and flower petals. The mother later gave her blessings to Thiba. On the left is the priest who conducted the wedding ceremony.
If you look closer, Thiba’s hands are decorated with henna designs.

Among the many guests at the wedding was a young cute girl. She is Thiba’s niece. Managed to take a few photos of her after the ceremony. She was with her mother, snacking on a piece of papadum, when I photographed her. Unfortunately, she was shy and didn’t look at my camera. Don’t you think she has big beautiful eyes?
