Spicy, Salty, Sour or Sweet

There’re basically 3 things to do when you’re in
Many Thais swear that eating ranks high on their pursuit of passions. In a multi-ethnic nation, Thai cuisine naturally differs from region to region; ranging from simple food to sophisticated cuisine befitting a royal feast.
As with most Asian countries, rice is proverbially the staple food which is served with meat and vegetables. I was told that Thai food is prepared in four basic flavours, i.e. sweet, salty, creamy and sour. And making it as spicy as your tongue can take it. Not forgetting also the seasoning, where on every dining table, there’s the standard array of four different condiments – Nam Plah (salty fish sauce), Prik Pon (spicy crushed chili), and a sour and spicy vinegar with chili. After the main meal, there’s a choice of fresh fruits or traditional Thai sweet desserts to cool off.
The photos here were taken at the food court in the basement level of Northern Village in the Central Airport Plaza, a shopping mall located close by to the Chiang Mai Airport.
Below This is a popular stall among diners. Its specialty is white flour noodle in creamy curry (a Lanna cuisine) - sorry, forgot the name, BTW a lot of people were wearing yellow-coloured apparels to show their love for King Bhumibol who’s celebrating his 80th birthday.

Yummy sweet desserts galore. My favourite is mango with glutinuous rice and thick coconut cream
