Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s remark that Malaysia is not a secular state but an Islamic nation, has sparked reaction from various quarters including well-known blogger Jeff Ooi and DAP’s Lim Kit Siang. Najib made the statement when speaking to journalists after officiating the International Conference on the Role of Islamic States in a Globalized World on behalf of PM Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
