Yesterday, Today & Forever
Jun 30th, 2007 by Steven
Late one night some 6 weeks back, as I was indulging in my bedtime reading of photography magazines, a call came in on my cell phone. Picking up my Sony Ericsson W810i I saw that it was my banker-friend Eric on the other end. It must be something important for him to call at that time of the night.
Sounding a bit apologetic, he asked whether I would be in town on June 30. I immediately knew then the reason for his phone call. Thinking to myself: “Son of a gun, he’s finally going to do it.” Do what? Let me give you a clue – Eric was one of the (most) eligible bachelors in town. Yep, he’s going to take that plunge for the eternal journey of his life.
I asked him why. He replied: “I am getting married. It’ll be a small a gathering.”
“Yes, I will certainly be there,” I said in response to his verabl invitation.
A week later, a bright red coloured envelope arrived. That should certainly be the invitation card. Embossed on the cover are 2 interlocking golden hearts, inscribed with Eric’s name and that of his future life partner, Teresa. Inside, ther’s a picture of Eric and Teresa in their wedding costumes. At the top of the photo is the caption ‘Yesterday, Today & Forever’. How poetic and romantic!
The church service was held this morning. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, I was not able to be there to witness the ceremony. But in about an hour’s time or so, I should be on my way to the dinner reception at the Cui Garden Restaurant in Melia Hotel, Jaln Imbi, KL. The card says that the function will start at 7pm sharp.
