Brother, Come and Shoot Us

I like discovering places and meeting people whenever I go on a holiday. And so during one of my trips to Kota Kinabalu, I skipped breakfast one early morning and made my way to the fishing boat jetty, which was located behind the Pasar Ikan (or Fish Market). It was an unforgettable experience watching the fishing boats docked and the crew hands unloading their catches. And of course, breathing in ‘fishy’ air.
What made my visit more memorable was when I came upon a group of Filipino boys who were eating their ‘nasi lemak bungkus’. I gathered they worked as general workers and were taking a break. I wanted to take some shots of them but was quite apprehensive in case they preferred not to be photographed. Then, one of them asked me to snap a photo of them. They even posed for the shot. My lucky star was shining! I managed to shoot not one but a few shots. They were certainly not camera shy. In fact they were very at ease. Hope to meet them again during my next trip to KK.
